REGISTRATION QUESTIONS

Q: Why should I Volunteer?

A: Volunteering for the #NWAChampionship is a great way to give back to the community, as the event has donated over $2.5 million to various local charities over its 11 year existence. Other benefits include the opportunity to work with family & friends, make new friends and watch the best female golfers in the world compete. There are over 20 Volunteer committees so you are sure to find an activity which appeals to your interests (descriptions are posted on a separate tab). You will also receive a Volunteer Package valued at approximately $300, filled with Tournament gear and passes.

Q: What does it cost to Volunteer?

A: The standard Volunteer fee is $45 and includes the uniform (two Callaway golf shirts and headwear), one Volunteer Weekly Grounds badge, 4 Daily Grounds guest tickets, meals during shifts, and invitation to the Volunteer Appreciation Party, hosted on Saturday, June 24th onsite at the Tournament.

Q: How many days do I have to Volunteer and for how many hours?

A: Volunteers are encouraged to work at least 3 shifts over the course of Tournament Week. Shifts typically last between 4-6 hours. Days and times may vary depending on the specific committee responsibilities.

Q: Do I need to be a golfer or have golf knowledge to volunteer?

A: There are Volunteer opportunities for everyone! We have several committees to choose from that do not require any golf knowledge. Training sessions are provided for committees that require specific duties (It is preferred that Television and Walking Scorer Volunteers have some golf knowledge).

Q: Are there any committees available that will be indoors?

Yes, The Media Center, Player Services, Scoring Central, Transportation, and Volunteer Services are all indoor committees.

Q: Will I need training? When is Volunteer Training?

A:  Volunteer training is required for the following committees: Ambassadors, Carts and Shuttles, Food Festival, Hospitality, Marshals, Standard Bearers, Transportation, and Walking Scorers. Training sessions will take place during Uniform Distribution on Saturday, June 17th at Rogers High School. Times will be announced at a later date. If your committee does not have a training, direct any questions you may have to your Committee Chairmen.

Q: If I have volunteered previously, do I need to sign up again?

Yes, every Volunteer must register each year. Since we are using a new registration website this year, you will have to create a new account by selecting the “Register Now” option on the homepage.  You can choose to use your same username and password from previous years, but still must register again to update contact information, shift preferences, and shirt sizes.

Q: Can my children volunteer? Is there an age requirement?

A: Yes. Children ages 13 to 18 years old can Volunteer as Standard Bearers. Volunteers for the Transportation Committee must be 25 years of age or older.

Q: If I am no longer able to Volunteer, can I receive a refund?

A: Yes. Please contact John Post at 203.241.5269 or john.post@octagon.com.
