Pinnacle Country Club, once known as Champions Golf & Country Club, began as a hog farm. In 1988, Berky Resources Corporation, developers, associates and founders from the local area were bound with a vision. That vision was to develop a superlative, private golf course and gated community offering a prominent address not to be equaled in Northwest Arkansas. The course was designed by well-known golf course architect, the late Don Sechrest, and assisted in design by PGA touring great, Bruce Lietzke.
The course was opened for play in July 1990. The contours are steep enough to be exciting and the fairways wide enough to be fair. The course is blessed with lakes, ponds, flowing streams and large, native trees. While young in existence, Pinnacle has a history as host of prestigious events, including the Greg Norman Challenge in 1990 and the Phillips Classic in 1992, an event which included several senior PGA players.
Pinnacle is graced with generous landing areas, but its large, undulated greens require both precision and accuracy. Its par 3s are extremely challenging, most notably Pinnacle’s signature hole, No. 15. This hole requires a golfer’s most accurate mid-iron as the 160-yard downhill shot must carry to an island green.
Members and guests enjoy an accessible location that offers an ideal escape from the complexities of life. Pinnacle brings family and friends together for social and sporting pursuits of the highest caliber. The Championship tennis facility includes the only clay courts in NW Arkansas and top-notch programs. The grand clubhouse is elegant in design with a comfortable setting for casual entertaining or formal events. The clubhouse evokes true Southern hospitality that welcomes our Members and guests home.
