Yani Tseng, the Rolex Rankings fifth-ranked player, carded a final-round 73 to win the 2010 RICOH Women's British Open at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England. With the victory, the 21-year old Tseng became the youngest player in LPGA history to win three Major Championship titles. She won the Kraft Nabisco Championship earlier this year and the LPGA Championship as a rookie in 2008.
Tseng's victory came at 11-under, one stroke ahead of Katherine Hull. Tseng started Sunday's final round with a four shot lead over Hull and maintained that lead through the front nine. Hull used birdies on Nos. 11 and 13 to cut into the lead and trailed by only one shot heading into the final four holes. Hull had chances to tie Tseng with birdie putts on Nos. 17 and 18, but narrowly missed both. After Hull missed the birdie opportunity on the 18th, Tseng drained her par putt to earn her victory.
